01. Discovery call
The first step is to set up a free discovery call, for us to chat about your project to be sure we are the right fit to work together. We’ll chat all about your business and your goals for your new website.

02. Choose your design
Take a look through my semi-custom template collection and choose the starting point that best fits your business.
Don't worry if the demo isn't an exact match for your branding or services, that's the part we'll personalise.

03. Prepare your content
Before we begin, I’ll give you clear guidance to help you prepare your website copy, images, branding and other content.
No wondering what you’re supposed to send me or staring at a blank Google Doc wondering what to write.

04. Time to customise
Now it’s my time to get to work. Starting with your selected template, I’ll work through all of the content you have shared to customise everything to suit your business.

05. Review and refine
I’ll share a full draft website by the Wednesday morning of your build week. You'll then have the opportunity to review your website and provide feedback before I make the agreed refinements and prepare everything for launch.

06. Time to launch
Once you're absolutely delighted with the website, I will prepare the handover package.

Need something extra?
If your business needs additional functionality such as eCommerce, scheduling, email marketing, additional pages or another Squarespace feature, we can discuss whether this can be added to your project.
If your requirements go significantly beyond the scope of the semi-custom service, I’ll recommend a Custom Website instead.

Answering your questions

No. The demo provides the overall design framework and structure, but the finished website will use your own content, imagery and branding.
I’ll also make considered styling adjustments throughout so the finished site feels appropriate for your individual business rather than simply looking like a template with the text changed.

With a Custom Website, we start with a blank canvas and create the design and structure specifically around your business.
With Semi-Custom, we begin with one of my existing professionally designed frameworks. This removes a significant part of the initial design stage, allowing us to create your website more efficiently and at a lower investment.
Both services result in a professionally designed Squarespace website. The main difference is the level of creative flexibility and depth of the design process.

If you don't have any type of branding or styling set for your business yet, I am happy to pull together a simple Website Style Palette for us to use throughout the project. This will consist of two fonts - one for your headings and one for paragraph text - and around five colours that are selected with website usability in mind.
This branding upgrade will cost £250 and will add around one week to your project. You will receive a style palette that will include the font and colour names so you can use them in your business going forward.

Payment is made in 2 instalments. An initial 50% deposit is taken at booking to secure your place in my diary, with the final 50% due once the website is complete, prior to project handover.

Yes, but you won't be left to figure it out completely on your own.
I'll provide guidance to help you plan the content for each page and think about what your potential clients need to know before they're ready to enquire.

Yes! I would never leave my clients high and dry with a website they are scared to touch. The best way to build your Google ranking is through an active and up to date website so I want you to feel confident in managing your own website.

Of course!
One of the reasons I love Squarespace is that your website can grow alongside your business. You'll be able to add new pages, services and content yourself, or you can come back to me for support when you need it.

All websites require a cookie and privacy policy. Including terms of use page for website users and if you have an online shop, conditions and shipping policies are also advisable. As these are legal documents I can't provide these for you but I will share a Legal Pages guide with you that includes a list of requirements and resources for free and paid templates you can use.
